Jacob discovered his passion for community development during his first trip to Nicaragua in 2000. Since then, he has worked and lived in Nicaragua, Chile, Spain, and Uganda administering humanitarian projects in education, housing, and sustainable farming. Jacob graduated from the University of Montana with BAs in Spanish and Environmental Studies then received a master’s in Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver. His graduate thesis evaluated the gendered impacts of a sanitation and hygiene marketing intervention in rural Cambodia.
Jacob comes to Greenhouse Scholars with several years’ experience serving at-risk youth in northern Colorado and working to transition hundreds of homeless youth into safe and secure housing.
While not at work, Jacob is probably rock climbing, skiing, and spending time with his wife, Charlotte, and their Black Lab puppy, Ollie.
