To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a graduating high school senior planning to attend a four-year accredited academic institution
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a legal resident of Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, New York, or North Carolina.
- Have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above
- Demonstrate financial need (annual household income no greater than $70,000)
- Possess excellent leadership skills, an ability to persevere through difficult circumstances, and a strong interest in and commitment to their community
The application process consists of four rounds
Round 1 (Deadline November 5, 2021 [CLOSED])
The Part One Application consists of collecting eligibility and demographic information, as well as a short answer response. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If approved, you will be invited to Round 2, starting on October 1, 2021.
The deadline to submit your Part One Application is November 5, 2021. You must complete the Part One Application in order to be considered for Greenhouse Scholars.
Round 2 (Deadline November 19, 2021)
The Part Two Application involves collecting your transcript, test scores (with exception), additional demographic information, two letters of recommendation, your FAFSA Student Aid Report, short answer responses, and an essay response. The deadline to submit your Part Two Application is November 19, 2021. Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified of your semi-finalist status in January 2022.
Round 3 (Deadline February 11, 2022)
Semi-Finalists will be invited to complete the Part 3 Application. This application will involve the creation and submission of a short video response. Video submissions are simple; a cellphone video or video from your laptop will be sufficient. The Deadline to submit your Part 3 Application is February 11, 2022. You will be notified of your finalist status in February 2022.
Round 4 (Deadline March 7, 2022)
Finalists will be invited to complete the Part 4 Application. This final application is informational only. It includes collecting updated transcripts, test scores (optional), a headshot, college acceptance status, other scholarship award status, and scheduling an interview. Round 4 will complete after your in-person interview.

January 31, 2022
Applicants are notified of their semi-finalist status by email. Semi-finalists are asked to submit a short Part Three Application consisting of a video response.
February 11, 2022
Part Three Semi-Finalist Application deadline.
February 28, 2022
Applicants are notified of their finalist status by email. Finalists asked to submit a Part Four Application including interview scheduling preferences, college acceptance, and scholarship status, an updated transcript, and a headshot photo.
March 7, 2022
Part Four Finalist Application deadline.
Weeks of March 22, March 29, and April 5, 2022
Finalists from Colorado, Illinois, Georgia, New York, and North Carolina are interviewed in person.
Week of April 19, 2022
Scholars from Colorado, Illinois, Georgia, New York, and North Carolina are announced by phone and email.
