To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a graduating high school senior planning to attend a four-year accredited academic institution
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a legal resident of Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, or North Carolina.
- Have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above
- Demonstrate financial need (annual household income no greater than $70,000)
- Possess excellent leadership skills, an ability to persevere through difficult circumstances, and a strong interest in and commitment to their community
The application process consists of four rounds
The Part One Application consists of collecting eligibility and demographic information, as well as a short answer response. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If approved, you will be invited to Round 2, starting on October 1, 2020.
The deadline to submit your Part One Application is November 1, 2020. You must complete the Part One Application in order to be considered for Greenhouse Scholars.
The Part Two Application involves collecting your transcript, test scores (with exception), additional demographic information, two letters of recommendation, your FAFSA Student Aid Report, short answer responses, and an essay response. The deadline to submit your Part Two Application is November 19, 2020. Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified of your semi-finalist status in January 2021.
Semi-Finalists will be invited to complete the Part 3 Application. This application will involve the creation and submission of a short video response. Video submissions are simple; a cellphone video or video from your laptop will be sufficient. The Deadline to submit your Part 3 Application is February 3, 2021. You will be notified of your finalist status in February 2021.
Finalists will be invited to complete the Part 4 Application. This final application is informational only. It includes collecting updated transcripts, test scores (optional), a headshot, college acceptance status, other scholarship award status, and scheduling an interview. Round 4 will complete after your in-person interview.
