Born in Nepal, Subada wanted to give back to her community after feeling gratitude for all the advantages she received in the US. She founded the Himalayas Club at Fairview High School and partnered with CU’s Engineers Without Borders and a Nepalese nonprofit to raise money for wireless Internet at a school in Nepal. Passionate about healthcare, Subada and her club are currently creating lessons plans to educate students at this Nepali school about hygiene. In addition to her work on behalf of the Nepalese community, Subada has been a long-time volunteer at Foothills Community Hospital and with the Reading Pals program, which pairs her with elementary school children to encourage a love of reading. Despite English being her second language, Subada will graduate with the rigorous IB diploma from her high school.
