Quentin Jenkins Jr. (He/Him) is a doctoral student in the Department of Sociology and an affiliate of the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University. A first-generation college graduate from the South Side of Chicago, Quentin is deeply committed to creating equitable educational opportunities for students of color. His passion for social justice and education equity stems from his own experiences navigating systemic barriers and seeing firsthand the challenges faced by marginalized communities. Quentin aims to translate research into actionable change that improves access, opportunity, and outcomes for underrepresented students.

  • Member of the inaugural cohort of the Junior Professional Research Program (JPR) at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research.
  • Research Assistant at Northwestern’s SROP program, analyzing disparities faced by Black LGBTQ+ students.
  • Mellon Mays Fellow, conducting research on educational inequities exacerbated by COVID-19 for first-generation, low-income students of color.
