Reduce the number of families harmed by substance misuse and abuse.

Po-Chen grew up between Taiwan and the United States, shaped by the challenges of cultural transition and the strength he found in community. When he first arrived in the U.S., he struggled with isolation and language barriers, but he found encouragement through the support of Beyond Taiwan, a nonprofit helping international students pursue education abroad. Inspired by their mission, Po-Chen joined as a board member and helped launch mentorship programs, peer editing workshops, and an expansive online resource hub to guide others through the same journey he once navigated alone. He brought that same spirit of inclusion to his school by founding a Taiwanese Culture Club, turning a booth at the World’s Fair into a thriving cultural community. Whether advocating for substance prevention with Catalyst, mentoring younger students in game development, or supporting peers in finding their identities, Po-Chen continues to lead with purpose and perseverance. He envisions a world where everyone, regardless of background or barriers, can find belonging and thrive. By studying computer science, he will develop inclusive platforms and lead initiatives that uplift underserved voices, advance wellness, and connect communities worldwide.
