Nakiya Clausell

As a student-athlete, Nakiya was a state and regional champion, co-captain of the track and field team, and attained an un-weighted GPA of 4.0.
She volunteered at Habitat for Humanity for several years as a shopping helper for refugee families looking for proper school supplies and clothing, and as youth choreographer at her church.
She established her own brand of leadership within and on behalf of the Black community at her school by challenging cultural norms and tackling stereotypes. She was proud to learn Bollywood dances, try ultimate Frisbee, and be an ambassador of open-mindedness among her peers.
