- Half Salvadorian, Michelle is very proud of her multi-cultural upbringing and enjoys surprising others with her bilingual Spanish-speaking abilities. She often helped as a translator for newly arrived immigrants in her community.
- She graduated as valedictorian and is the first in her family to go to college. A teacher of hers stated: “she is a high level creative thinker with a scientist’s mind for analytical thinking and observation.”
- As an avid artist, she brought awareness of, and appreciation for, artistic endeavors to her community by creating a program for high school students to create and sell art at the local library, benefiting her high school’s art program.
- Michelle was an active National Honor Society member, won local awards with the speech and debate team, and played clarinet as part of the musical honor band.
