Kibrewosen came to the U.S. from poverty-torn Ethiopia two years ago knowing little English. Instead of taking English-as-a-second-language classes, Kibrewosen took the most challenging courses he could, even convincing his counselor to enroll him in his high school’s A.P. classes, and becoming one of the most accomplished students at his school. Kibrewosen helped motivate other African high school students through his involvement with African Student Unity. Kibrewosen has been a long-time intern and employee at Confi-Dental products, a leading manufacturer of dental products.
