Although Elle went to high school in the small town of Cripple Creek, she made the most of the experience by seizing every opportunity that came her way and even creating new opportunities for herself and others. A natural leader in high school, Elle pursued college involvement in the Residence Hall Association, Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, and Health Advisory. She continues to give back to the community by volunteering at the UCCS Student Health Center, Cool Science, and Toys-for-Tots. This past year she conducted bioanalytical chemistry research, which is done in the hopes of better understanding neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s. Additionally she completed several internship programs at Woodland Park Surgical Associates, Woodland Park Family Medicine, and WhiteWave Foods (through Greenhouse Scholars). Elle successfully turned her internship at WhiteWave into a full-time job in their Research and Development department.
