Edite Maloku

In order to support her family, Edite worked 20 hours every week while in high school at KFC and Sears.
She and her family fled her home country of Kosovo on foot, immigrating to the US to avoid the war there.
Edite gave back to her community by volunteering as a tutor to under-resourced elementary students and served as awelcome leader for freshmen at her high school.
As only 4% of students at her high school were proficient in math, she founded a math club to help grow students’ interest. She also played lead roles in the school’s theater production and served as lead attorney in Teen Court.
