Caleb Joel grew up in an Ethiopian household shaped by community-based savings systems like Equb, which laid the foundation for his passion to expand financial access across Africa. Inspired by the barriers people in Ethiopia faced accessing formal banking, he pursued opportunities at Venture Capital firms pitching FinTech startups, Commercial Real Estate firms, and student-run investment funds. His goal is a continent where access to capital becomes a pathway to generational progress. By working across capital markets and policy, he aims to transform Africa’s financial systems through innovative, scalable solutions rooted in history and dignity.
