Bashel Lewis

  • Bashel completed more than 500 hours of community service to better his neighborhood, which was in turmoil due to the building of a new stadium.
  • He was a member of an African American male initiative club, president of the Recycling and Leaders of Tomorrow Clubs at his school, student government events coordinator, and heavily involved in theater.
  • For being a person of service, knowledge, prestige, and humanitarianism, Bashel earned Homecoming King, an honor awarded by the student body.
  • Even when Bashel was homeless after his mother was incarcerated, he kept his commitment to his community.
