During the holiday season of her senior year in high school, Amy’s father was in a severe car accident that left him paralyzed and the family in financial difficulty. Despite the difficult times she has been through, her positive attitude and optimistic outlook are an inspiration. In college, Amy was proud of her ability to live on her own and do well. She recognizes the importance of the guidance and support provided by Greenhouse Scholars and her Mentor. Amy is combining her interest in working with youth with her dedication to pursuing a career in speech therapy.
