- In 2009, Amos emigrated from Burma with little knowledge of the English language; four years later he graduated in the top 2% of his high school class.
- As a leader in the Ambassador Club, he translated for other families throughout his school and community.
- With a passion for science and technology, Amos helped Burmese refugees and other members of his community as an amateur computer technician.
- Amos was an honored singer at his school and was invited to regional honor choirs while serving as a praise and worship leader at his church.
