Alhassan grew up with his two brothers, first in refugee camps in Guinea and Sierra Leone and later in Denver. Based on his firsthand experience with loss and displacement, Alhassan has a deep commitment to making life better for those around him. His goal is to become a healthcare administrator in order to help improve the healthcare system in his country and community. He worked towards his goal by interning for two summers with Kaiser Permanente in the department of Population and Prevention Services, volunteering for The Bridge Project, serving as a peer mentor with the Academic Advancement Center and the College of Business at CSU, and being a member of college’s National Honor Society and African United. Ultimately Alhassan aims to build a clinic in his hometown in Liberia.
