Inspire marginalized communities to dream bigger and push boundaries in an ever-changing world.
Alan grew up in Colorado Springs in a tight-knit Mexican family, shaped by both responsibility and inspiration. As the eldest son, he helped raise his siblings while drawing strength from his older cousin Leilani, whose example helped him believe in his own potential. Motivated by a deep desire to uplift others, Alan has become a student leader, organizing cultural initiatives through the National Spanish Honor Society and bridging academic divides through mentorship in math and STEM. He refuses to be deterred by exclusion or expectation. When he found himself disconnected as a U.S. Senate Page, he used calculus to connect, proving that persistence and empathy open doors. Alan envisions a future where technology serves equity, especially in low-income and Hispanic communities. By majoring in electrical engineering and energy studies, he will design sustainable systems and lead efforts to make clean energy both accessible and transformative.
