Highlight the authentic stories of my community.
Addison Belhomme grew up on the South Side of Chicago, surrounded by a rich Black Culture that shaped her voice as a filmmaker, activist, and storyteller. Raised in a tight-knit family and deeply inspired by filmmakers like Ava DuVernay, Gina Prince Bythewood, and Ryan Coogler, she founded her own film company, Director’s Eye, at just 13 years old and has since used her platform to honor her heritage and challenge stereotypes about her community. Through her passion she’s been blessed with many amazing opportunities, with the one of them including her becoming the US Representative for First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Get Her There Campaign”, where she worked on two short films for The Girls Opportunity Alliance! She envisions a future where media reclaims and preserves Black history, giving voice to untold stories and pride to future generations. By majoring in Film and Television Production at the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts, she plans to expand her impact through powerful narratives that educate, celebrate, and uplift the Black community worldwide.
