Salina Tesfay

Salina’s gratitude, academic drive, and community awareness began after visiting family in Eritrea at a young age and seeing the poverty there; both of her parents immigrated to the US as refugees.
As the first in her family to attend college, she graduated as salutatorian of her class of over 500 students and only had one B during her rigorous IB coursework in high school.
Captain of her cross country team, president of National Honor Society, and secretary of her class, she was also a swimmer, part of Spanish National Honor Society, a literacy tutor, and on the speech and debate team.
She plans to be a doctor who provides medical care in under-resourced areas.
