Alyssa Bekerman

As editor-in-chief of the Overland Scout Newspaper, she oversaw 23 editors and reporters and received numerous journalism accolades and awards: 1st, 2nd, and Honorable Mention in the Colorado High School Press Association – Best of Colorado Journalism Competition, National Scholastic Press Association Pacemaker Finalist, and the Gold Crown Award from Columbia University.
She cared for a family member who spent a year in home recovery while also dedicating herself to her schoolwork and community, ranking 1st out of over 500 students in her graduating class.
